Welcome to Vienna
Dear friends and collegues,
it is a pleasure to welcome you to the homepage of the conference „Chemical Protein Synthesis“, which will be held fom 3.-6. April 2013.
Recent developments in chemistry and molecular biology have led to a substantial expansion of the spectrum of methods available for the production of proteins and protein analogues. The limitations of semi-classical approaches like overexpression on the one hand and peptide synthesis on the other hand no longer dictate the availability of proteins with tailor-made structural and functional properties. The capability to manipulate protein structures in a completely controlled fashion will be of crucial importance in basic biological research, in biotechnology and increasingly also in medical applications.
It is the aim of this conference to explore the potentials of chemistry applied to biochemistry and cellular biology bringing together scientists from three disciplines: Biochemistry, Biophysics and Chemistry.
Best wishes
